IDG Enterprise emphasized flexibility in the conception and design of its TechDispenser newsletter. Working from a customizable newsletter template aimed at IT leaders, IDG Enterprise seeks to address customers’ specific information needs by filtering technical content according to their interests, be it professional advancement or mobile-focused news.
Based on audience monitoring, the company is achieving its targets—33% of the user base are IT managers or above and another 16% are business managers or above. Because the product was built in-house, incremental expenses were minimal, allowing the company to focus on quality. Its Ruby on Rails platform will allow it to structurally adapt as it grows.
IDG has aligned with several measurement tools, including Omniture, to gauge its success. Though only a few months old, the product had already seen positive growth. The low 0.5% unsubscribe rate suggests its burgeoning potential. Targeted ad campaigns have also earned success, some seeing click-through rates above 2.0%. View the eletter engine here.
